crown molding before & afterThis is one of my favorite before & after pictures I’ve ever taken of my work.

It shows you just how much potential any generic room has when you remove the builder-grade door and window trim and baseboards and replace them with layers of simple moldings.

Of course, the bold red walls against Benjamin Moore’s Revere Pewter trim paint help set off the whole project like taupe walls never could.

You may not believe it, but you can run down to your local lumber yard this weekend and buy all of these moldings.

The only special order items here are the ornate appliques and the Flex Trim moldings, everything else — including the dentil crown molding and the ornate scroll in the crown molding soffit — came right off the shelf from my local molding & millwork stores here in the Metro Detroit area.

Your home is just aching for a complete molding makeover like this one. It’s not at all hard to do and is so much less expensive than other home improvement projects.

And I’m here to help.

After I’ve finished posting the ARCHWAY-101 installation sequence I’ll start posting this crown molding installation sequence, step by step.

Have a great weekend!
